Learning groups¶
Learning groups are spaces where several learners work together on courses. You can exchange ideas, ask questions, share resources and — provided the group is linked to a course — see the progress of all members.
Finding and joining a learning group¶
- Go to Learning groups in the main navigation.
- Browse the list of public groups, with filters:
- Topic
- Linked course
- Language
- Group size
- For an interesting group, click Join — you're in immediately.

For private groups, joining only works by invitation — either by email or by a shared link, both of which you get directly from the group's creator.
Creating your own learning group¶
You don't need any special permissions — all learners may found groups.
- Click New learning group.
- Fill in the fields:
- Name — e.g. "Project management Q1 2026"
- Description — what it's about
- Link a course (optional) — if all members work on the same course, they see each other's progress
- Maximum members — limit the group size if desired
- Visibility — public (anyone can join) or private (by invitation only)
- Create.
- Invite members — by email or by a shareable link.
Working in a group¶
Once you're in a group, you have two areas:
Group chat¶
- Messages to all members
- Share links and resources
- Ask questions, post answers
- Markdown formatting (bold, italic, lists)

Activity feed¶
If the group is linked to a course:
- Who completed which lesson?
- Achievements of other members are celebrated (e.g. course completion)
- You see at a glance who stands where — mutual motivation
When you've founded a group yourself¶
As the creator you can:
- Invite members and also remove them again
- Change group settings (name, description, visibility)
- Archive the group — messages remain readable, but no one can actively write anymore
- Delete the group — everything is removed permanently
Frequently asked questions¶
Do others see my progress in the course linked to the group? Yes — that's exactly the point of linking a course. Who just completed which lesson is visible in the activity feed. If that makes you uncomfortable, leave such groups or opt for groups without a course link.
Can I leave a learning group? Yes, at any time. In the group settings → Leave group. You can rejoin the group later if it's public or you're invited again.
Do I get a notification for every message? By default you get a notification per new message — you can adjust this in the notification settings or turn it off completely.
Can I invite people from other companies into my group? No — learning groups are limited to your own company, even public ones. A person from another company can't join your group.
What happens to messages when the group is deleted? Everything's gone — chat history, activity feed, group settings. If the history matters to you, copy the relevant content out beforehand, or ask the creator to only archive the group.
