FAQ — frequently asked questions for trainers¶
A collection of the most common questions from practice. More in-depth answers are in the respective feature guides.
Creating courses¶
How do I create a new course? Creating a course — step by step through all mandatory and optional fields.
What lesson types are there and when do I use which? Table overview and tips in Building lessons.
Should my course be sequential or freely navigable? For content that builds on itself, sequential; for reference-style content, free. More in Creating a course.
How can I duplicate a course? Via the library: save the course using the library icon, then insert it in the target catalog with From library — this creates an independent copy including its lessons. Details in Creating a course.
Content and media¶
How do I embed a video? Upload the video in the media library, then select the video from the list when creating a video lesson.
How large can a file be? A maximum of 2 GB per file.
How do I update a file without adjusting every lesson? Use versioning: in the media library → open the file → Upload new version. All lessons that embed this file automatically show the new version.
Which H5P types are there? Overview in Creating H5P content.
Quizzes and grading¶
How do I configure AI grading of free-text answers? Define the task + a model answer + criteria — see Quizzes and grading.
What is a good minimum score? 70% as a solid default. Higher (80-90%) for compliance courses, lower (50%) for casual exercises. Important: the minimum score applies per lesson — table in Quizzes and grading.
Learners complain about the AI grading — that it's too strict/too lenient. First step: review the model answer and criteria. You can override individual gradings under AI gradings; for critical courses, enable the course toggle "AI gradings require trainer approval".
Course quality¶
When should I run the AI quality check? Before activating, after major changes, and at low completion rates as a diagnosis. More in AI quality check.
My quality score is low, but learners are satisfied. Both views are valid. Quality recommendations are optional, not a must.
Do learners see the quality score? No — the score only appears in Course management and in the trainer area, not for learners.
Peer reviews¶
How many reviewers per submission make sense? Two is usually enough; three smooths out outliers; four or more is overkill. More in Configuring peer reviews.
What do I do if a reviewer comments unprofessionally? Address the reviewer directly. There is no way to mark individual assessments as invalid; removal, if needed, goes through a content manager or the platform team.
Can I assign reviewers manually? Currently not — assignment is automatic.
Learning paths¶
Who is allowed to create learning paths? Content managers and company admins. Not as a pure trainer — see Assembling learning paths.
Can I use a course in several learning paths? Yes, as many as you like.
What happens if I remove a course from an active learning path? Complex behavior depending on where learners currently are. Caution note in Assembling learning paths.
Certificates¶
How do I control whether a course issues a certificate? Via the course toggle "Issue certificate on completion". The template used is set company-wide (not per course) — more in Certificates and certificate templates.
A learner completed a course offline — can I issue a certificate afterwards? There is no direct certification without course completion — completing lessons on behalf of others is not possible either. The person can take the course online; the certificate is then generated automatically.
Can I use different language templates? No — exactly one certificate template is in effect per company; there is no assignment per course or per language. For multilingual needs, it's best to word the template bilingually.
Participant management¶
How do I enroll many people in a course at once? Bulk enrollment via a list, department or group. Step by step in Managing participants.
How do I see who's behind? For mandatory assignments: Administration → Mandatory assignments — the list is sorted by due date; deadline passed + status not "Completed" = overdue. Per-person detail evaluations are available under Administration → Analytics & Reports (from the Content Manager role upwards).
How do I send a reminder? For mandatory assignments, automatically — provided you configured reminders when creating them. For free enrollments there is no reminder feature; what remains is the route via learning-group messages (without push notification) or outside the platform.
Statistics & reports¶
Where do I find statistics on my courses? The enrollment overview shows progress, score and learning time per person. The analytics dashboards under Administration → Analytics & Reports are visible from the Content Manager role upwards — details in the reports guide for administrators.
Can I export a report? In the analytics dashboards (from the Content Manager role upwards): yes, as PDF, CSV or Excel.
Errors & problems¶
My H5P content doesn't load. Reload the page. If that doesn't help: ask the platform manager — it may be an H5P server problem.
A lesson shows nothing. Check the lesson content in the editor — sometimes saving was interrupted.
Learners don't see my course in the catalog. Is the course active? Is the catalog active? In "No self-enrollment" mode, the course does appear in the catalog but without an enroll button — learners see a note to contact their point of contact.
